Shrungarabhra Ras (also spelled Shringarabhra Ras) is a potent herbo-mineral Ayurvedic medicine widely used for respiratory and digestive health.

Shrungarabhra Ras is primarily a Rasayana (rejuvenator) that balances all three Doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha).

• Respiratory Support: Highly effective for chronic cough, asthma, bronchitis, and clearing phlegm.

• Digestive Health: Used to treat hyperacidity (Amlapitta), indigestion, and loss of appetite.

• Anemia & Weakness: Contains Abhrak Bhasma, which helps improve hemoglobin levels and physical stamina.

• Other Uses: Traditionally used for fever, ascites (fluid retention), and even as a mild aphrodisiac.

• Ingredients

The formulation is a complex mix of minerals and herbs. The primary component is Abhrak Bhasma (processed Mica), which is then processed with:

  • Triphala (Amalaki, Bibhitaki, Haritaki)

  • Trikatu (Sunthi, Maricha, Pippali)

  • Fragrant herbs: Camphor (Karpura), Clove (Lavanga), Cinnamon (Twak), and Jatamansi.

  • Other minerals: Purified Mercury and Sulphur (in minute, processed quantities).

  • Important

  • Medical Supervision: Because it contains heavy metals (Ras medicine), it should never be self-prescribed. Prolonged use without supervision can be harmful.

  • Avoid: Generally avoided during pregnancy, lactation, and for children unless specifically directed by a Vaidya.
