Devadaru tailam 200ml SNA oushadhasala

Detailed Ingredient Information

The formulation is prepared in a base of Sesame oil, incorporating the potent essence of Himalayan Cedar:

• Devadaru (Cedrus deodara): The primary active ingredient; it acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and expectorant.

• Tila Taila (Sesamum indicum): Used as the base oil (Sneha Dravya), known for its ability to penetrate deep into the tissues and carry herbal properties effectively.

• Gokshira (Cow’s Milk): Added during the processing to nourish the tissues and balance the heating effects of the cedarwood.

• Karpoora (Cinnamomum camphora): Provides a cooling sensation, improves blood circulation, and helps in clearing respiratory passages through its aromatic vapours.

Key Therapeutic Benefits

• Respiratory Relief: Specifically indicated for productive cough, bronchitis, and asthma; when applied to the chest or head, it helps loosen and expel phlegm.

• Throat Health: Highly effective in managing tonsillitis and sore throat when applied externally to the neck area.

• Muscle & Joint Pain: Relieves stiffness and pain associated with arthritis, spondylitis, and general muscle spasms due to its Vata-pacifying nature.

• Skin & Wound Healing: Its antiseptic properties make it useful for cleaning infected wounds and treating chronic skin conditions like eczema or fungal infections.

• Stress & Insomnia: Massaging the head with this oil has a grounding effect on the nervous system, helping to reduce anxiety and promote better sleep.

Precautions

• External Use Only: While some Devadaru formulations exist for internal use, this specific oil is primarily intended for external application (Abhyanga) or inhalation.

• Sensitive Skin: Due to the presence of Camphor and Cedarwood, individuals with very sensitive skin should perform a patch test to avoid irritation.

• Fever: Generally, oil massages are avoided during the peak of an acute fever unless specifically directed by a physician.

• Application: For respiratory issues, it is best applied slightly warm to the chest and back followed by a warm compress.
