Action
- Inhibits allergic reactions by stabilizing mast cells, regulates eosinophilic count and serum IgE levels. Regulates inflammation by inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2 pathways and cytokines such as TNF- ,TFN- , Interleukin-10 and Interleukin-12. Zinziber officinale (Sunthi), Piper longum (Pippali), Berberis aristata (Daruharidra).
- Acts as antihistaminic by inhibiting antigen induced histamine release and inhibits antigen induced degranulation. Piper nigrum (Marich), Ocimum sanctum (Tulsi).
- Acts as immunomodulator by mediating T-cells immunity and by increasing the production of IL-2, IL-4 and IFN- . Also exhibits anti-microbial activity by inhibition of RNA and protein synthesis. Berberis aristata (Daruharidra), Acorus Calamus (Vacha), Piper nigrum (Marich).
- Acts as Analgesic due to its glycosides and alkaloids. Acts as anti-inflammatory due to its active phytoconstituents and inhibiting biosynthesis of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid, and neutrophil function during inflammatory states. Rubia cordifolia (Manjistha), Curcuma longa (Haridra).
- Acts as Gastroprotective by its increased mucosal resistance and also as an antispasmodic in food allergies. Also acts as mild laxative. Zinziber officinale (Sunthi), Piper longum (Pippali), Triphala (Emblica officinalis, Terminalia belirica, Terminalia chebula).
- It acts as blood purifier, removes toxins from blood. It also inhibits binding of 3H-PAF to the platelets. It stimulates absorption of coenzyme Q-10, ß-carotene and EGCG, a powerful antioxidant. Rubia cordifolia (manjishtha), Shuddha Gairik, Piper nigrum (Marich).
