Shankh Bhasma is one of the most popular and effective Ayurvedic remedies for digestive ailments. It is prepared from the shell of a conch (Turbinella pyrum).

Composition & Preparation

• Primary Ingredient: Shuddha Shankha (Purified Conch Shell).

• Purification: The conch is purified by boiling it in Lemon juice (Nimbu Swarasa) or other herbal acidic mediums for several hours.

• Incineration: It is then subjected to the Gaja Puta (high-heat incineration) process until it turns into a pure, white, micro-fine ash.

• Nature: It is alkaline in nature and possesses a cooling effect on the stomach lining (Sheeta Virya).
